Overview
This app helps you reduce snoring by detecting potential snore patterns and device posture, then providing periodic haptic feedback. We take your privacy seriously. The app performs its analysis on your device, and we do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data.
Microphone and Audio
Purpose: The app uses your device’s microphone to analyze sound levels and envelope patterns to detect potential snoring.
Processing: Audio is analyzed in real time on your device using signal characteristics (e.g., RMS level, envelope/burst shape).
Storage:
When a “snoring-like” event is detected, the app may save a short audio clip from a rolling in-memory buffer to your device’s local storage (Documents directory) so you can review it.
These recordings never leave your device unless you share them yourself.
The app retains up to the most recent 50 events. When the list exceeds this limit, the oldest events are removed and their audio files are deleted.
Control:
You can disable microphone-based detection at any time in the app’s UI.
You can delete all locally stored events and recordings by using the “Reset Log” button in the app.
Motion and Device Posture
Purpose: The app uses the accelerometer to detect when the device is lying flat (e.g., on your chest) to help determine when to trigger feedback.
Processing: Motion data is processed on device and is not stored or transmitted.
Network and Connectivity Checks
Purpose: The app checks whether Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity is available to decide when haptic feedback should be active.
Processing: Connectivity state is checked on device using system APIs. This information is not transmitted off device.
Haptic Feedback and Proximity Sensor
Haptics: The app triggers short vibrations or haptic feedback when certain conditions are met (e.g., lying flat or snore-like patterns) and depending on connectivity state.
Proximity: The app may use the proximity sensor to dim or turn off the display when covered, improving comfort and reducing distractions. No proximity data is stored.
Data Retention and Deletion
Event Log: The app keeps a local list of recent events (up to 50). Each event may include a timestamp, cause (noise/posture), and—if enabled—an audio clip stored locally.
Deletion:
Tapping “Reset Log” deletes the event list and attempts to remove associated audio files from your device.
Uninstalling the app removes its local data from your device.
Permissions and Settings
Microphone: The app requests microphone permission to analyze sound. You can grant or revoke this permission in iOS Settings. If permission is denied, microphone-based features are disabled.
Background: The app is designed to run in the foreground (e.g., with Auto-Lock set to Never) to function reliably.
Children’s Privacy
This app is not intended for use by children under the age required by local regulations. If you believe a child has used the app and stored recordings on your device, you can delete them via “Reset Log” or by uninstalling the app.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
No transmission: The app does not transmit your audio, motion, or event data to external servers.
No third-party analytics: The code does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Security
All processing is performed locally on your device. We recommend keeping your device up to date with the latest security updates from Apple.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect improvements or changes to the app. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
